May 4th - August 2st at 30 to 37.5 hours/week (Days Mon-Fri)
Must be between the age of 18-30 and eligible to work in Canada.
Salary depends on certifications and experience. $20/hour
Tasks & Training Requirements
Working with the recreational camp counsellor will provide pre season staff training in health and safety procedure; club policies, equity & inclusion and safe sport including participate and complete online canoe kayak Canada training courses.
Cooperating and assisting each other to develop the leadership skills and knowledge needed to successfully implement the paddling programs in a safe and responsible manner.
Provide proof of CRC/CVS checks
Responsible for planning organizing the youth adult and senior recreational and assist with administrative aspects for the competitive canoe kayak program
Include activities to promote environmental stewardship and enjoyment of out of door and paddling
Post weekly and daily staff schedule following review and approval of supervisor
Confirm registration and prepare forms and supportive information for daily sign in of campers and tracking of health and other communicated participant specific needs.
Provide a supportive diverse, equitable and inclusive sage sport team environment for staff and participants
Ensure health and safety regulations and safe sport policies are followed
Verify equipment is in good repair and available for use
Supervise counsellors and instructor and work together to implement the daily program
Supervise daycamp participants ages 7 and up on land and on water activities. Assist with implementing youth and senior programming
Communicate with parents about their concerns, take concerns to SLCC director as required to resolve
Provide daily verbal feedback to staff.
Basic first aid training requirement for role
Drive a motor boat and hold a valid boaters license.
